Arlington early-learning center, Carter Bloodcare team up for a blood drive – The Dallas Morning News

An Arlington early-learning center is partnering with Carter Bloodcare to host a blood drive Friday.

Children’s Lighthouse Viridian in Arlington is part of the multistate Children’s Lighthouse organization, which provides early-age education and resources.

Located in the north Arlington’s Viridian neighborhood, the school wanted to do something for the community, co-owner Navi Sharma said.

Sharma said that because of the coronavirus pandemic, there has been a national blood shortage. So the school wanted to help serve local families, and Carter Bloodcare was just the organization to partner with, she said.

“It made sense to partner with an organization that has similar beliefs as we do, giving back to the community and making a difference,” she said.

Sharma said if turnout is high, the school hopes to be able to host additional drives in the future.

The blood drive takes place from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at Children’s Lighthouse Viridian, 4000 Cascade Sky Drive.
